Bodum 5020-16US Ottoni Stove Top Water Kettle
 | The body of the Bodum Ottoni Water Kettle is made of high-quality, 18/10 hand polished stainless steel. The mahogany wood handle is a laminate of several layers and glued with waterproof glue. A final covering lacquer seals the wood against steam.

Design-wise, the Ottoni Water Kettle was Bodum's contribution to the post modernism of the 70's. It uses historic modernist symbolism with references to the idioms of old time Mississippi steamboats. It was their way to add a good deal of humor and fun to the "less is more" design attitude. The fact that the Ottoni kettle is able to boil water is no joke, and it does so as fast and efficiently as any other kettle.
Although it is one of the more decorative designs by Bodum, its quality is still the highest. The kettle's body is made of 18/10 hand polished stainless steel. The mahogany wood handle is a laminate of several layers and glued with waterproof glue. A final covering lacquer seals the wood against steam.

| Comments: | I've wanted one of these for 22 years-finally treated myself to one Mother's Day '08--LOVE the look-But--my handle never stayed upright, which resulted with a semi-blackened handle from repeated exposure to gas heat (the handle falls over sideways). It looks terrible.I would love to get a replacement handle. Any suggestions? I do use the kettle daily for tea every night--just disappointed in this feature. |

| Comments: | I love the design of this product. I have had two and plan on ordering another one. In both the previous kettles, the marble on the top has come off. The first one broke and the second one has been lost. I'm buying another one, the kettle works great and we use it often. |
