Bodum 10498-10 Bistro Ice Tea Jug with Plastic Infuser

Photo of Bodum Bistro Ice Tea Jug with Plastic Infuser It is a genuine piece of art, the Bodum Ice Tea Jug Bistro! It can be used in three different ways: as a tea jug with the filter inside, as a storage tool with the santoprene knob sealing the stored liquid from outside influences and, removing the lid (santoprene, stainless steel), as a simple glass jug carrying any drink you like. The whole body of the jug including the handle is made of heat-resistant, ultra-light, see-through borosilicate glass interacting with the filter through multi-faceted colors and - believe it or not - giving the thrilling impression of looking into the eye of an insect.

Each jug measures 9.53" high by 4.92" in diameter with a 34-oz. capacity. All parts are dishwasher safe.

INSTRUCTIONS OF USE

Cold tea, known as Ice Tea has long been a way to enjoy a nice glass of tea, specially on a hot day. The Bodum Bistro Ice Tea Jug makes brewing ice tea quick, easy and in style.

  1. Place five tablespoons of your favorite tea into the filter.
  2. Fill the jug half way with hot water.
  3. Allow the tea to steep for 3-5 minutes or until it has reached your desired strength.
  4. Carefully remove the filter to stop the brewing process.
  5. Add ice and cold water
  6. Allow the tea to cool further in the refrigerator or serve over a glass of ice.

TIP: For best results BODUM recommends using hot water brewing method described above.

TIP: Try different brewing methods. You can make stronger or lighter tea by adjusting the amount of tea used in the brewing process. You can make a concentrate by adding more tea and then mix it together with ginger ale or club soda for a light and refreshing drink.

NOTE: The Bistro Ice Tea Jug can also be used to make other infused drinks. From fruit juices to Sangria or water. Try the following recipe for refreshing infused water:

RECIPE 1: BODUM COOL ICE TEA SPRITZER

  1. Place the filter into the Bistro Ice Tea Jug and add a few slices of orange, lemon, lime, cucumber, or strawberries. (Most citrus fruits make nice infused water but you can use your imagination).
  2. Fill the jug with ice.
  3. Fill the jug with cold water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  4. Serve.
  5. You can refill the jug with water several times before changing the fruit.

RECIPE 2: BODUM COOL ICE TEA SPRITZER

Ingredients: 64 grams of Fruit Tea, Ginger Ale or Club Soda

  1. Fill the filter with 64 grams (10 tablespoons or 2/3 cup) of fruit tea.
  2. Fill half way with hot water and allow to brew for about 5 minutes.
  3. Remove the filter and fill the jug with ice. Allow to cool.
  4. Mix 1 part of the ice tea concentrate with 2 parts ginger ale or club soda and serve over ice.
