Perlick's new 650SS Stainless Steel Flow Control Faucet is a classic example. It has all of Perlick's exclusive forward sealing design features, as well as a flow compensator. By adjusting the flow control handle, you can adjust the restriction for hard to pour brands, allowing you more control over your flow. You can also adjust the flow control handle to slow the flow for pouring sampler glasses, flights or growlers, as well as to reduce the amount of foam when pouring into a frosted glass.

The Perlick forward sealing design features a revolutionary ball and o-ring that prevents beer from being exposed to air. As a result, the handle lever doesn't stick, and there is no build up of mold and bacteria in the faucet body. It also has fewer internal parts for better reliability.

Follow these instructions if you need to take the faucet apart to replace worn parts.

Note: Anytime the Front Seat (I), O-ring (H) or Coupling Gasket(s) are removed, they should be replaced. Always use OEM replacement parts.


  1. If faucet is USED, soak faucet in warm cleaning solution for 1-2 minutes to free up bonnet and handle jacket. If the faucet is NEW, submerge the faucet in warm water for 5 seconds.
  2. Unscrew and remove Jacket (1).
  3. Unscrew and remove Compression Bonnet (2).
  4. Remove Coupling Gasket (8) only if cut or worn.
  5. To remove the Handle Lever Assembly (5A or 5B), lift it upward and push back.
  6. To remove Front Seat (7) use a small screwdriver from the bonnet end of the faucet.
  7. To remove O-ring (6) use a small screwdriver from the bonnet end of the faucet.
  8. Inspect O-rings for wear or damage and replace as necessary.
  9. To remove flow control lever, unscrew cap and pull out.
  10. Remove flow control compensator from rear of faucet.


  1. Re-install O-ring (6) into O-ring groove from bonnet end (use a small blunt screwdriver).
  2. Re-install front Seat (7) into O-ring groove (use a small blunt screwdriver). Note: Seat must move freely in seat groove.
  3. Re-install Handle Lever Assembly (5A or 5B).
  4. Re-install Bearing Cup (4).
  5. Re-install Bonnet Washer (3) into Compression Bonnet (2).
  6. Re-install Compression Bonnet (2). Tighten by hand only. Do not use any tool, as this can damage the faucet.
  7. Re-install Handle Jacket (1).
  8. Re-install Coupling Gasket (8) if removed.
  9. Install flow control compensator into rear of faucet and orientate so level engagement hole is facing lever insertion hole.
  10. Install flow control lever, ensure pin on end of lever is aligned with compensator engagement hole and tighten cap.

Comments:My first pour was always heady and to complicate matters I have two tap heads with two different beers. This is exactly what I needed to regulate flow and get a perfect pour every time. Very well made does not stick and operated flawlessly. I think the beer even tastes better!

Comments:Bought one to start. Very solid build. Easy installation and love the flow restrictor for those tough to pour brews.

Worked so well I ordered one for my second tap within a week. Can't wait to use the restrictor next time I fill a growler @ home.

Comments:It actually works as advertised which is rare these days. The flow control handle will let you slow the flow all the way down to nothing or wide open. I got this faucet to help with some foaming issues that i was having but ended up increasing my beer line length instead which worked well. I would assume it would be great for beers that are dispensed at higher pressures. It has more internal parts because of the flow control mechanism so it could be more subject to bacteria, etc. and may be tougher to keep clean

Comments:This 650ss is a work of art
I use them directly on top of the keg and now can keep the beer as co2 charged as I like and it will pour slowly with the pressure valve on low with NO FOAM or as desired. I am ecstatic now not having flat-ish or foamy beer having had problems for a long time. With a short Knob it fits inside my converted freezer. I am so happy I purchased 4 of them and for the other two kegs I have, it is easy to slide the tap on a a different ball lock keg.
Years from now the price will be forgotten but the quality will endure.
Bottom Line:I would recommend this product.
These are a must if you hate foam!

Comments:Ideally, you want your regulator to keep the exact pressure needed to dispense your beer perfectly at all times. In my experience using CO2, that is very difficult. The first pour is always foamy, then pressure dips after a few pours, you turn up the pressure to compensate, foam again, the cycle continues... Enter the flow control faucet. It gives you an additional valve to regulate pressure at the faucet. On the first pour, turn the valve mostly shut, and open it slowly for a perfect pour. When the pressure dips and you turn it up, use the valve to control unexpected pressure spikes. Once you use these, you will wonder how you lived without them.
