|Comments:|| The title really says it all. I purchased this tap about a year ago from beveragefactory. Loaner taps are notoriously bad and require hefty deposits (sometimes sixty bucks), so I decided to just buy a good tap at the beginning of my sophomore year. I am so glad I did. |
By far, it has been the best party investment I have ever made. To be short, the release valve is f*cking awesome. At most, I get about one cup of foam per keg (in restaurants where I have worked, we typically go through several pitchers of head before we start serving pours on a new keg). I know it has been mishandled by people who, apparently, were smart enough to get into a highly competitive university, yet completely ignorant as to the functioning of this tool made by the gods (I can tell from the wear on the brass coupler). Still, it works just as well as the day it made its first pour. I really only let my good friends borrow it, as it is such an awesome piece of equipment. All of my friends are amazed by how well it performs. I have recommended it to my friend, who is placing an order. A warning to those who do not regularly purchase kegs, it will require a different coupler to fit import kegs, but the D type collar has fit every domestic brew I have seen for sale. I will likely buy an import coupler in the future.
As for the brand name, my friend has the same type of Micromatic tap, but without the release valve. Still a good tap, but doesn't have the valve, which really sets the tap apart. Buy this tap, you will love it. As a matter of fact, if you don't like it, we can't be friends anymore. In fact, I hate you.
