William Crisp Black Malt is a highly roasted specialty that contributes a black color, rich body and dry, roasted flavor to your brew. It can be used in small quantities to add color while subtle in flavor. Also called Black Patent, this malt is a signature ingredient in Porters and Stouts to achieve a dark and full in flavor characteristics. Additionally, it is well suited to modify colors in Schwarzbier or Black IPA's with a small amount. It can even be used sparingly in such styles as Amber or Brown Ales to impart more subtle color and flavor characteristics.
