Sunpentown SF-616 Portable Evaporative Air Cooler w/ Rotating Louver
Using the simple process of water evaporation, the Sunpentown SF-616 Evaporative Air Cooler provides a versatile and economical way to cool and humidify a room. As it uses much less energy than an air conditioner, the air cooler is an excellent cost-saving method to cool indoor temperatures.
Warm air drawn into the air cooler passes through an unique 3-dimensional cooling pad saturated with water. As the air flows through the pad, heat from the air transfers to the water, causing some of the water to evaporate. An air stream is then blown out the front of the unit that is considerably cooler than the current room temperature! Rotating louvers provide even distribution of cool air throughout the room.
The 3-dimensional cooling pad is made of cellulose paper, impregnated with unique ingredients for high performance and structural strength. The pad is treated with special stiffening and wetting agents for maximum water absorption and retention, while an anti-rot chemical prevents algae and bacteria growth. Due to its 3-dimensional weaving structure, the cooling pad allows longer contact between air and water.
Note: The unit works well in dry climates; not very effective in areas with high humidity as the unit utilizes water to cool.
