Spin handle to the tope of the spiraled shift and flip over the ratchet. Continuous clockwise turning inserts into the cork. The ratchet flips over and the cork is extracted. 5-5/8" long. Chrome Plated.

How to Use

  1. Flip over the cam at the top of the threaded shaft. This locks the handle to the shaft.
  2. Place the corkscrew on the bottle and turn the spiral into the cork.
  3. As soon as the cam comes into contact with the body frame of the corkscrew the cam will flip over, automatically.
  4. Continuous turning will allow the shaft to come through the hole in the cam. Keep turning clockwise and the cork will rise from the bottle.

Ordered again
by:Mark (06-04-2014)

Comments:I have purchased this item before. It takes a while to learn how to use the device. It is not a levered corkscrew. It works better. This is my third order. It is again for gifts. I inherited a corkscrew of this type from my father. I do not know where he purchased it. Eventually, it failed after many years of use and this is the only place that I have found that has this device.
Bottom Line:I would recommend this product.

Mine is from the 1950s and still perfect

Comments:Centers the corkscrew perfectly. Once the cam flips over, you just keep turning the handle to extract the cork. I inherited mine from my parents. Been through many other types but still find myself returning to use this one especially with hard to remove corks. Don't let the low price deceive you. This is an excellent corkscrew. Note: do not know the metal quality of the new ones but mine is solid and has no discoloration after all these years.
Bottom Line:I would recommend this product.
