Question:
Does the width include the flanges? The gap I need would require the flanges to make it 7" total in width

Answer:
IC FDT-5515-ND is listed at 14.87"L x 5.37"W x 0.75"H These are the dimensions of the base you would have to cut into countertop. The flange sticks out 3/8th of an inch in all directions.
