The Beverage Factory offers only brand new aluminum High Pressure Nitrogen Tanks. We do not sell reconditioned steel tanks. Every nitrogen cylinder is produced from high strength aluminum alloy 6061-T6. These tanks are popular because they are not as heavy as steel tanks and do not rust. The service pressure is up to 2216 PSI/153 BAR. These cylinders are stamped with required U.S. Department of Transportation and Transport Canada markings. The 580 valves are CGA approved, and have a female thread for Nitrogen Regulators.

Before you can properly pour Guinness®, you will need to dispense it with a mixed gas tank. Guinness® is a nitrogenated beer as opposed to a carbonated beer. Nitrogen is what gives Guinness® its famous taste and pour. The proper gas mixture you will need is 75% Nitrogen and 25% Co2. Not every gas supplier is willing to fill a mixed blend, so you will need to call around to find a place who will be willing to fill a mixed blend.

It is our experience that most suppliers are willing to fill a tank comparable in size to your standard 10 lb. Co2 tank. The proper nitrogen tank should be a high pressure tank in the 2200 PSI range with a nitrogen CGA 580 valve. We sell a 33 cubic high pressure tank with a rating of 2216 PSI/153 bar with a nitrogen valve. If you want to buy our tank, please confirm you can fill it locally.

Question:
How frequently do the Aluminum tanks need to be recertified? I have a B5 tank with manufacture date of 01C18. Was told it needed recertification but thought they are good for 10 years
