Sales Tax Refunds for Export

If BeverageFactory.com ships an order to a freight forwarder located in California, California sales tax will be charged. However, buyers can apply for a refund of the sales tax paid by submitting the appropriate documentation to the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA). Please note that we are unable to waive sales tax on orders destined for export at the time of purchase due to the complexity and variability of the required documentation.

Mexican Merchant Program

The Mexican Merchant Program concluded on December 31, 2020. As of January 1, 2021, California vendors must obtain the same resale certificate and supporting documentation from Mexican merchants as required from any other purchaser intending to resell the property, in accordance with California Regulation 1668, Sales for Resale. If a sale to a purchaser from Mexico does not qualify as a nontaxable sale for resale, it may still qualify as a tax-exempt export to a foreign country, as outlined in California Regulation 1620, Interstate and Foreign Commerce. For more information, please refer to the CDTFA website: https://www.cdtfa.ca.gov
