The Achille still employs the tried and true mechanical functions for brewing espresso such as requiring the user to raise the espresso maker's lever (which infuses the coffee with the water) and then subsequently pull the lever down applying the right amount of force. What sets the Achille apart from both its predecessors and its contemporaries is its state-of-the-art stainless steel heat exchange boiler. This boiler enables you to quickly move from brewing to steaming with no wait time. In addition, the Achille is outfitted with an internal pressure regulator that controls the boiler temperature and pressure ensuring your Gaggia is always ready to brew!

Realizing that the Achilles' instant steaming abilities need to be taken full advantage of, Gaggia outfitted each one of these manual espresso makers with their exclusive Turbo Frother. The Turbo Frother is mounted on a ball joint towards the top of the espresso maker which allows it to accommodate any size frothing pitcher and easily froths milk to the correct consistency for cappuccinos, lattes, and more.

As if one modern feature on this classic style espresso maker was not enough, the Achille is the only manual machine to feature a 58mm commercial portafilter. Constructed of chrome-plated brass, this portafilter creates the best possible temperature stability enabling the Achille to produce amazing shots of espresso.
